Containers for Cards

This Christmas I made 10 greeting cards (various themes, get well, sympathy, thinking of you, thank you, etc) for my 3 sisters and 2 friends as Christmas gifts. I searched for quite a few weeks for a container to decorate and put the cards in. I wanted an opened container, no lid. Well one day at Dollar Tree I came across these plastic vinyl containers which fit the cards perfectly. I made my own dividers labeling each with a theme also using my stampin up roller to decorate the dividers. Then I attached the silk flower(bought a bunch from Dollar Tree and took them apart and then reassemble and used a brad to attach them to the vinyl container. To create the tag I used my Cricut to cut the letters for the word "cards", and then stamped the words "Hand made with love" and attached the tag with brads to the vinyl container. All three sisters, love their gifts.

Then I needed a 5th container to put additional cards , so I ended up using the box that the envelopes came in. I cut away the top flaps and made dividers. Used pattern paper to decorate the box. I also used some butterfly 3-D stickers that I had. My friend, Peggy loved her cards and container,

Here are a few more of the greeting cards that I made for Christmas gifts. The following cards I used 2 sheets of solid cardstock that was doubled sided, 2 different pattern papers, series G clear stamps from Michael's, stampin up ink spots, stampin up scallop punched, round corner punch, ticket punch, pop up dots, creative memories square punches (large and small size). I was able to make a total of 12 cards with this cardstock/pattern paper and still had a few pieces left over. Some of the series G stamps I stamped on ivory cardstock, then cut out and attached with pop dots. I am so glad that I discovered "Sheets Load of cards" blog, because I was able to create a lot of cards in a short amount of time. It used to take me forever to match papers. The paper for the cards came from one of the stack so all the paper pretty much matches. The card on the left (picture on the right) was a sketch layout from "Sheets Loads of card". I really liked the color combo that I used to make these cards. The colors are so cheery. I love the small flower stamps from the Series G stamps. I have used them quite offend on my cards.

It has been so much fun creating cards and giving them to others. I know that one of my cards was recently used to send to a co-worker (Get Well). I am always searching for sentiments for my cards.
