Scrapfest, Card Swap, and just some good buys

Hello everyone, I know that I have not posted for a while. Well since I last posted I have been to a Stampin Up Party at my friend Tammy's house. I did two cute project which was geared toward Easter. A cute little container made with a can and a very cute Easter card using a wheel stamp and a few other stamps from the stampin up collection. My friend, Lisa also shared some of her silk flowers with me. Thanks Lisa.

My sister, Cathy lives near Hattiesburg, Mississippi and the scrapbook store there sells the $1.00 Series G Stamps (Clear) and she picked up 9 packs for me. Recently we both went to a scrapbook event in Mandville, Louisiana and I notice that she had store her clear stamp in the clear CD cases what a great idea. I plan on heading to Office Depot in the next for days to purchase some clear CD cases for my clear stamps.

Scrapfest Louisiana was this past weekend. It was a 3 day event, but I only attended on Saturday, what a really great time I had. Of course, I sat with some really cool ladies. My sister, Cathy, my friends, Peggy Morgan, Garnet Rojas, Linda Fazenada and two of Linda's friends, Pam and Donna. Of course, there were so many others that I have met through other scrapbook events that was there.

Well I had to make 5 cards for my online group, The Crop Room, Well I decided that I was going to make this really pretty flower that I spot on someone blog. Well I did not have oval punches, but did have an oval stencil, so I traced out 50 large and 50 small ovals and went to town cutting them out, folding each oval in half and then inking all. I was very please with my finished card.

Well at Scrapfest I stumble across a booth that was selling tubes of glitter for 25 cent each and decided that I just had to have some for my cardmaking. I also took a make n take class that showed us how to use flock. I plan on making a beagle paper piecing dog using the flock as a birthday present for my niece, Sara. Just have to find a good clipart to use.

The picture to the left is my sister, Cathy, Patty Suer Provance, Linda LeBlanc Fazenda, and myself. We all grew up in the same neighborhood, and now we all share the same hobby ... scrapbooking and cardmaking.

The picture to the right is my friend, Peggy Morgan, look closely and you will see the layout of her granddaughter that she completed.

You know me away looking for ways to use my tools in mutilple ways, well here is a way to make a zig zag border using your creative memories square punches.

Frances Till - Country Croppin' Chick

I attempted scrap booking at the age of 14. It wasn't a pretty attempt. Luckly, all evidence is long gone. he he he... I dabbled in it the following years, nothing to major. Mainly working on things that friends wanted. I started back full time when I was pregnant with Makenzie in 2004.

The first time, I really can‘t remember how I learned of it. The more recent times, I found a Creating Keepsake in Walmart. Due to the craft genes that run in my family, it wasn't a shock that I would pick up scrapbooking. I have always had a thing for paper...(don't tell anyone.
I am a proud member of the Country Croppin' Chicks (I'm Cowgirl) We are a newer club in Northeast Louisiana. We have been together about 18 months and have 7 members now!!! :-)

I have been married almost 3 years to the love of my life, John. We have a three year old little girl, Makenzie. John also has 3 kids from previous... Ariel 11 yrs, Jacob 9 yrs, and Dylan 5 yrs. 1 cat - monet, 2 horses - star and poppi, almost 40 goats, and about 40 chickens.

Hobbies? hmmm.... scrapbooking (duh!) Reading (Nora Roberts), Surfin' the net, a lot of other crafts (just no sewing or fabric related), watching movies, and playing with Makenzie!

Roni - Wild Cat

Roni has been scrapping for so long she lost track of when she started. Her friend Garnet is the one who introduced her to the world of Scrapbooking. Garnet took her to Kitty’s house to a CM (Creative Memories) party, and that is were her and Garnet because hooked.

Roni belongs to a group called “The Scrapping Cats”, each member has a name and Roni is known as “Wild Cat” The reason the name was given to her is her love with animal prints (tiger, giraffe, leopard, etc.). Roni, her mom, Sam, and her sister, Kyle are staff members for Gulf Coast Scrappers Roni loves the weekend retreats with all the girls. Her favorite place is ORANGE BEACH--it is wonderful there. GCS has allowed her to go to crops all over the Gulf Coast. She has scrapped locally with the girls at the Scrapbook Cottage and have always had a blast. She misses the Cottage can't wait to be able to scrap again locally and often.
She is married to a wonderful man Benny, Roni and Benny have four children and one granddaughter Kennedy. Kennedy is 6 months old and Roni got to see her twice once when she was born and once for Christmas. Kennedy's Dad (TJ) and Roni’s daughter are in the Marines and they are statio
ned in Hawaii. Boo Hoo --Roni has a daughter that lives in San Francisco and is a San Quentin Correctional Officer. Roni’s oldest son (BJ) is a gunner on a Black Hawk helicopter in the United States Army and is in Iraq--she has not seen him in 14 months. She does to talk to him often on the phone and e-mail .Roni’s youngest son Blaine is working on the river in Chicago for a transport company and loving the chance to travel all over the United States. So what started out as a full house has ended as empty nest. Since Benny works offshore he bought Roni dogs to keep her company. She has two chihuahua's and her son (BJ)'s boxer while he is in Iraq however Roni may keep them all.

Do you have any other hobbies? I love to sleep---it is my favorite hobby--I love to collect scrapping stuff. It is so much fun to see the newest things. My husband and kids say I need to go to intervention for scrap booking. I love sewing to although since I have discovered scrapping I haven't done much--I did do my granddaughters nursery this summer though and that was fun.
