Creating is such a joy

REMINDER: if you need to see details in the picture, click on the picture and it will enlarge.

Creating is such a joy and challenge (to see if I can accomplish the project) to me. Lately I have been a little blue due to family issues, and it has been very hard to dig deep down and found some creativity. But last night I just force myself to seat down and create a gift bag and some cards, not my best work.

Tonight (Dec 11) is the Scrappin Packin Mommas (SPM) Christmas Dinner, eleven (11) of us will gather together at CafĂ© DiBlasi in Terrytown, Louisiana (for the out of towners that read my blog, Terrytown is across the river from New Orleans). After our dinner we will play the "White Christmas Game"(stealing game). The snowman bag is what I will put my gift in. I made the snowman using my cricut machine, the only thing not cut from the machine was the snowman’s nose, and the holly /berries. I use the Basic George cartridge. The arms of the snowman is the letter "Y" modified just a bit.

Here are 2 homemade Chrismtas Cards that I received one from my sister, Cathy and the other from a friend, Linda. I really like how Linda took a recent picture of the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarters and created a local Christmas card. I love the Christmas colors that Cathy used on her card and the diamond pattern paper. Cathy used 2 simple stamps the "date stamp" and "Happy Holidays" what a creative way to use both of the stamps.

Here are two (2) sympathy cards that I am late making. I have to put them in the mail today. Not totally happy with the outcome. I had trouble with the stamping - I found it hard to line up the double stamping. Any tips with double stamping. I do like the inside of both of my cards. I have surf the net and have found some really nice sentiments for the inside of my sympathy cards. I have about 6 sayings now.

Here are a few cards that I made this morning before leaving for work. A thank you card, a thinking of you card, and friendship card. All 3 cards were made with 8 x8 paper that I picked up from Michael’s. I love using the clear stamps sets that Michael's sells for $1.00. The other day while in the store I notice a few new sets and of course I just had to have them.

Follow this link and you will find instruction for a 3 D Christmas tree card. Thanks for sharing with us Cathy. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/actCtrImg/c01183722.pdf

Patty,
Looks like once you got started your creative juices started to flow!!! I resorted to buying my Christmas cards this year because I just was having the most difficult time trying to put them together. I think I'm making it harder than it should be... So, I cheated and took the easy way out! lol Thanks for your Christmas card. It was lovely and I do love it and will cherish it... Have a great day. Oh yeah, think of me at Cafe Diblasi's. That is one of my "favorites"... patty

Patty, I'm sorry to hear you're having issues in your life right now that are not happy. My thoughts are with you, whatever they might be. Your cards are great, as usual. I'm so glad you put so many pics up of your stuff. It is wonderful to see other people's work. One question, what do you mean by "double stamping"? I don't understand the technique you're trying to use. Maybe it's something I know how to do, but under a different name. Call me.

Patty, I went back and looked at your card again and think I understand what you mean by "double stamping". If you had a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig it would work better, I think. But the whole idea of the two stamps is to get that offset look. I think you're trying too hard, and it really looks nice. I think that's the way its supposed to look. The positioner I mentioned would give you EXACT placement in the same spot with both stamps if you used it, if that's what you want. But the stamps themselves may not be made to line up exactly inside of one another. Again, I think that's the way it's supposed to look. If you want to see how to use it, stop by the store and I'll let you try mine to see if you get results you like better.

Patty,
Your work looks terrific as always. Dont sweat the small stuff. Remember, there are no mistakes in scrapbooking, just let those creative juices flow like always. I just love what you did with the little snowman bag, I would have never thought to do that.....you are so creative. Keep up the good work!!!
