Yesterday, March 2, was the 18th anniversary of my daddy's death. he died about 3 hours before his 57th birthday of a heart attack. If he was alive today he would be celebrating his 75th birthday today (03/03/34). My momma died 7 weeks later of cancer. I truly miss both of them, as I grew into an adult my parents, became not only my parents but my best friends. Here is one of the last (not a very good one) pictures of my daddy (Louis) and momma (Corinne) it was Christmas 1990 at my home.
My father was an excellant wood carver, all of his children have his carving in their homes. Here are 4 of the carvings that I have the Fawn is my favorite and a crab (My sister, Lizzy has that one) on a trawel board. I remembered when he was carving the crab, he keep a frozen crab in the freezer for several months and that was his model for carving the one that he did. Then he made a miniature trawel board with chains to mount the crab to. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DADDY.
