This past weekend a group of ladies gathered at my sister, Cathy’s house is Sumrall, MS for a day of scrapbooking. Peggy, Laura and myself left New Orleans after work on Friday to head to Mississippi, the drive took about 2 hours. I don’t think Peggy will ever drive with me again. I am a little heavy on the pedal, and was not up to par on braking. So sorry Peggy if I scared you.
We ended up just talking on Friday night. Although as soon as we got to her house around 8:15 that night. We all piled back into the car to go into the little town of Sumrall to the Catfish house for supper. The food was very delicious, I loved the hush puppies (I am not a big fan of hush puppies), and the fried Oreos cookies.
Peggy, Laura, Cathy and myself started out early on Saturday. The rest of the gang did not show up until about 4:30 p.m due to Sara and Madison having their first rehearsal for the play that they are in. Th
ey drove up in Patty Suer Provance’s SUV (Lizzy L, Patricia L, Sara and Madison). Later that evening one of Cathy's local friends showed up to do a bit of scrapping with us cajun girls. Loved your company, Misty.
Everyone had a fantastic weekend. Saturday night my brother-in-law treated all the ladies to boiled crawfish and boiled crabs. Then it was time for entertainment they pulled out the karoake machine and everyone had some good ole fun. My sister, Lizzy even wrote a song for my brother-in-law, Greg called Old MacDore’, it was about a lot of scrappers visiting his farm.
Cathy had each of take a picture in next to their tractor, and we were presented a Redneck Driver’s License and a photo card with our picture for a keepsake of the event. Thanks Cathy, you and Greg did a good job as hostess. Can’t wait for another Cathy’s Country Crop.

These card holders were made from an envelope. Seal the envelope then cut one side at 1-1/4 inches, sat that on the side. Take the large part on put it side ways into a crimper and crimp. Before crimping you may want to do all of your ink work, and then embellished.

artist cards that I made at the SPM weekend crop. These are for a swap in June at TAC in New Iberia.
What is an artist card? Artist Trading Cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as
baseball cards[1] and thin enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.
[2] The ATC movement developed out of the
mail art movement and has its origin in Switzerland.
[3] The cards are usually traded or exchanged rather than sold.
I plan on using my artist cards to attached to the front of homemade cards.
These cards were made by my brother, Kenny. He printed them out from his computer. Kenny you did an awesome job and I am sure the soliders will just love your cards.

Ms. Virginia worked on these 12 easter cards at Lisa's crop on February 28, and right before she left she delivered them to me for the troops. I love this little bunny image and would really like to try and do a paper piecing of this bunny.

Yesterday, March 2, was the 18th anniversary of my daddy's death. he died about 3 hours before his 57th birthday of a heart attack. If he was alive today he would be celebrating his 75th birthday today (03/03/34). My momma died 7 weeks later of cancer. I truly miss both of them, as I grew into an adult my parents, became not only my parents but my best friends. Here is one of the last (not a very good one) pictures of my daddy (Louis) and momma (Corinne) it was Christmas 1990 at my home.
My father was an excellant wood carver, all of his children have his carving in their homes. Here are 4 of the carvings that I have the Fawn is my favorite and a crab (My sister, Lizzy has that one) on a trawel board. I remembered when he was carving the crab, he keep a frozen crab in the freezer for several months and that was his model for carving the one that he did. Then he made a miniature trawel board with chains to mount the crab to. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DADDY.
