New Orleans Painting

Several of my friends have talked about the Cork N Canvas classes, where you go and socialize, have a bit of wine, then you paint a simple picture on a canvas. Well last Thursday after work I stopped at Wal-mart and bought a 16 x 20 canvas and a small arylic paint set, and some brushes. Then I went home and searched the internet for some clipart to use in my picture, since I do not draw very well. I traced the jester hat, the fleur de lis, the saxphone and the street car. I free handed the street lamp, the house, the St. Louis Cathderal, the piano keys, and the tabasco bottle. I have to say that it took me 5 -1/2 days to complete this painting. It will a challenge to me to see if I could accomplish this on my own with no intructions. I think I did a pretty good job.

Patty, Patty, Patty - I am sooooo proud of your work and have been bragging about it and showing it off. I am so happy to see how much you have grown through your passion of art and that you found what was hidden inside of you. This is a lesson to all of us to open our hearts and our minds to see what might be locked away inside of us. I hope that Mom and Dad are looking down and can see they have another little artist at work, who has that desire that they both used in their talents. I am anxiously awaiting your next work of art. We are never to old to learn something new.

With all my love,
Liz
