Stamp Images - try my hand at watercoloring

My online group, The Crop Room had a stamp image swap, I decided to particpate in 4 of the strings and recently quite a few stamped images showed up in my mailbox.

Tonight I decided to try my hand at watercoloring the images. I used the Prismacolor watercolor pencils (24 colors), and a Marvy Memory Blender pen. Here are my results. Not sure if I did it correctly or not, but I am pretty pleased with my results.

After coloring 6 of about 160 images that I received from this swap. I now need to use these images and create some neat cards. I know that there are a few watercoloring tutorials out there. I will have to go and search them out.

So what are your plans for this weekend other than celebrating Easter. Thursday night I might be going to a crop with my friend, Peggy. Friday night I will be cardmaking at my sister, Lizzy's house with my niece, Sara and 4 other ladies.

You did an awesome job. I love how you did not color parts of the images(leaving them white)- those are your hilights. GREAT GREAT WORK!!!! You have gained so much artistic ability since you have been scrapbooking. My goodness and you didn't think you had it in you. Again, I have to say they are so beautiful - you've got it now.
Love, Liz

Boohoo on the cardmaking at Lizzy's Friday night - - wish I could be there.

Dalton has baseball practice on Saturday and we'll hang out at the house on Easter with an easter egg hunt for Dalton.

Thanks for all your inspiration.

Hi Patty,
Congratulations on your beautiful water colored images. I just love the inspiring cards you have been publishing on your blog. Keep up the great work.
Here is a hint you might try with coloring images with water color pencils: Stamp the images with Staz On and use the water color brush with the water color pencils ( all brands). The blender pen does not spread the watercolor pencil marks well because it is not very moist. The blender pen works best with the ink from the markers or squeezed out ink from the ink pad.
I hope this helps all the water color artist's out there. Keep up the great work.
