I enjoyed paper piecing this canvas. So what do you think??
Still working on this one. These are only 2 of the paper piecings that I will be putting on this. I may put some gifts at the bottom of the canvas. Not sure the direction of this.
I had so much fun creating the first canvas that I searched out some clipart for a pattern and created a second canvas.
I was inspired by a canvas that Scrappin Friendzee was having a class on. The instructor was Angie Dale. This is the Santa Claus that she used but done on a 12 x 12 canvas instead of a 16 x 20 canvas. I added the reindeer paperpiecings, the antler are pulled away from the canvas, it is hard to tell by the photos. the mustache is also pulled away. The tree was inspired by a card that Mindy in our card swap group made. I did not want to use ribbon so I used paper and then took some puffy fabric paint to make the needles on the pine tree and attached the paper to a real piece of wood. The pointsettia is also made of paper and also pulls away from the canvas along with the holly leaves. Then I layered it several times with Mod Podge and then used a clear sealer.
I had an ornament swap I was invited to tonight, but my friend that invited me was not feeling well so we did not go.
well I woke up this morning before work and decided the box that I bought from Dollar Tree, a gingerbread house shaped box was not going to do. Seen where on pinterest.com someone took wood blocks of wood and created a snowman. Well I decided to do it with cardstock and create a series of boxes that stacked and this is what I came up with, because I was pressed for time I did not get to stickle it on put more embellishments on it.
So I now plan on putting some more embellishment on it. Stay turn for the results.
both of the santas were painted with arylic paint on white cardstock and then cut out and paper pieced together.
