Sentiments

My pen pal, Brandy stated to me that she was interested in learning some technique for cardmaking. Well I have been putting together some projects for her. This is one project I will let her have a peek at. I took some of my $1.00 clear stamps from Michael's and other $1.00 mounted stamps from Michael's for her to use on future cards. I did notice on the clear stamps the Stampin Up ink spots do not stamp well. I find an ink pad with foam does a better job of stamping

Also, I am sure a few of you have notice that I changed the look of my blog. The picture of the flowers that is a part of my logo was taken by my youngest son, Peter. When we went to Christmas in the Oaks, he loves flowers and loves painting pictures of flowers. I would like to have a few comments on the new look of the blog.

A Night out with the ladies

Yesterday there was a card making session at my sister, Lizzy's house. There was 8 of us, Lizzy, Peggy, Kaci, myself, Tammy, Barabara, Sara and Alexis. Alexis is my sister's niece and her first time card making and I think we have her hooked. It was a night of cardmaking, talking, laughing. I was in slow gear and only got 4 cards done.

Stamp Images - try my hand at watercoloring

My online group, The Crop Room had a stamp image swap, I decided to particpate in 4 of the strings and recently quite a few stamped images showed up in my mailbox.

Tonight I decided to try my hand at watercoloring the images. I used the Prismacolor watercolor pencils (24 colors), and a Marvy Memory Blender pen. Here are my results. Not sure if I did it correctly or not, but I am pretty pleased with my results.

After coloring 6 of about 160 images that I received from this swap. I now need to use these images and create some neat cards. I know that there are a few watercoloring tutorials out there. I will have to go and search them out.

So what are your plans for this weekend other than celebrating Easter. Thursday night I might be going to a crop with my friend, Peggy. Friday night I will be cardmaking at my sister, Lizzy's house with my niece, Sara and 4 other ladies.

Easter cards

Easter is just right around the corner. My oldest, Matthew will be celebrating his 23rd birthday on Good Friday. I think Friday is going to be a Crawfish day for us, even though they are a bit pricey this year. All of these Easter cards went to Iraq, to Roni's son BJ for his use. Here are a few more cards.

God bless all have a have a wonderful Easter.

Yesterday my sister, Lizzy, my niece Sara, and I all participated in the St. Joseph Altar. Sara was an angel during the blessing. Both Lizzy and I were on the food serving line, from about 11:00 till 7:00 p.m. This is our last year during the altar. We have participated for 4 years.

Sorry about the grammer errors in the smilebox, but not sure how to go back and correct them.

enjoy.

Today at work we are going to give one of our co-workers a small baby shower. I wanted to do something more than just donate money to a larger gift. So last night I pulled together 12 thank you cards to give as a gift. Who doesn't need Thank you cards.

Nicole - Louisiana Scrapper

I have scrap booked before in college when I belonged to NAFCS. I was in charge of documenting and saving the memories from the Nicholls Family & Consumer Sciences Club. I really started scrap booking at home and with friends in the Summer of 2004 when child was born.

I have always juggled the idea of scrap booking for a while before I really drove into it head first! My cousin Christy was introduced to scrap booking from a friend of hers, Dawn Pellegrin. Dawn showed Christy all kind of cool products available, which she shared with me. The next thing you know... I am Buying up Michaels! LOL

I belong to the following online groups: Scrap Jammmies which sends me cool 2 page kits monthly (http://www.scrapjammies.com/). When I get a chance I visit the Paper Place and chat with friends I have made at GCS (http://www.paperplacescrapbooking.net/). Judy from GCS introduced me to the online chatting area and there is an awesome gallery as well.

I get together with my girlfriends monthly to make cards and/or scrapbook pages from Close To My
Heart products. I also attend GCS events with a small group of lad
ies called It's Five O'clock Somewhere. In the past I have attended an all day crop with The Acadian Crops in New Iberia.
My favorite online stores are: A Cherry On Top
http://www.acherryontop.com/ , TV Weekly http://www.tvweekly.com/main.php , Scrap Your Trips http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/

My family and I reside in Houma, Louisiana. On March 15, 2008, I will be married for 5 blessed years. Duane and I have one son, Dylan John who is 3.7 years old. We have one dog named Buck Landry who is a Blue Heeler.

I am a Support Cooridantor Supervisor for Easter Seals in Thibodaux. My husband is a RN at Terrebonne General Medical Center (Emergency Room).

I enjoy fishing with my family, going to the hunting camp in MS in the winter months, and shooting guns with my husband. My family & friends play an important role in my life.
