A cindrealla birthday card

This special Cindrella card is for a very special little girl who will be turning 4 very soon. My little art buddy, Bailey. Found a Cindrella clip art on the internet, cut it out and attached to the front of a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2. I knew it needed a little bling, so of course I used the frost lace stickle for sparkles for the stars.

So what is happening with you this weekend? I will be going to work for 1/2 day, yes work, trying to meet a dead line. Then leaving work at 1:00 p.m. to go the the movie theater to pick up some movie passes for birthday gifts. Pick up Bailey, then to a birthday party for Peyton and Sam. I have heard through the grapevine that there is a space walk.

Then later tonight I have to complete some valentine cards, a birthday card, finsih up some paper piecing, and if I am still awake some easter cards for the troops.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend

Valentine cards for my nieces and nephews

The puppy heart is for Sara. That is an actual picture of her dog Emma Rose. I embossed some paws onto the card, and took some red ink and rubbed on the embossing paws to highlight them more. The front of the card says "Guess Who Loves U". on the inside it says "Aunt Patty.

The 3 cindrella hearts are for 3 little girls that love their princesses, Bailey, Trinity and Courtney. The Babe Ruth heart is for for Dalton, our red glove baseball player. The Cars heart is for my little nephew, Peyton, that loves cars and trucks. The Bratz heart is for my niece, Alexis. Each heart has candy attached on the inside of the card.

Egg Shaped Easter Cards

One version of my egg shaped cards. I started with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2. I also used some of my wooden stamps from michael's. The dragon fly is a stamp that I colored and cut out. Then I went surfing the net for some sentiments, which I found some really nice ones. I also was creative on the inside of my cards.

Rabbit shaped cards for the troops

Well I am off to my newest challenge which is making Easter Cards for the the two troops that I have adopted. BJ's army troop, and TJ's marine troop. I wanted to make rabbit shaped cards so I went to the internet and did a search on Google. Well I found a card similar to the one I made, but could not found a pattern, so I decided to make one for myself. First I started with a sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 white cardstock, cut into 2 equal parts, which left me with 2 card bases (4-1/4 x 5-1/2) then I took one of my oval stencils and draw the outline of the face and then I used my index finger and traced around it twice to make the ears. Then I cut the base out with my deckle scisssors. Punch out small circles for my blue eyes, free handed the pink for the ears, and nose. then with a shade of a blue gray marker I drew the mouth and teeth , and took a .01 zig marker for the whiskers, a little chalk to yellow the teeth and pink chalk for the cheeks.

Great buys at Michael's

Well since I was across the river for Lisa's crop and near the Michael's I just had to stop in to see what goodies I could buy. I was looking for some of the wooden rubber stamps that they have in the $1.00 bins for Easter, but found some for Valentine, there were several but I only picked a few and will pick them up for valentine cards for the troops in 2010. The package with the 4 small stamps cost me only 50 cent.
Also, I found in the clearance bins some square embossed christmas cards that they were selling for 25 cents a pack. Each pack had 8 cards and 8 envelopes. I am going to try and alter them into other cards other than Chrismtas. Might be albe to cut windows in the, which was suggested by Clarence K. My sister, Lizzy said that maybe a window with a color piece of cardstock in the window for more support on the card. If I cut it into a window there is not much support on the edges of the card, that is where Lizzy's idea comes into play. We will see, for they are just tucked away. To many other projects going on here, Sara photo folders for her Feb 14 birthday party, finish up my personal valentine cards and working on my February birthday cards for family and friends. Lisa had taken the yellow and pink eyelet cards an altered them into Easter cards. They are really pretty cards they are tri fold. The Hot pink cards were a $1.00 a package. These cards are blank on the inside, and can easily be altered to whatever theme you may need.

I also found a new series of Studio G $1.00 stamps I did not purchase everyone that was in the series but did purchase most of them. I think my favorite is the one with the bbq pit. Also, the one with all the borders, and the set with the pregant mom.
I just love these little clear stamps set.

Lisa's crop

On Saturday, January 24, Lisa held another one of her monthly crops. There was about 16 ladies in attendance. I did not attend for the day, but did show up to teach a paper piecing class and to visit and of course to sell my paper pieces. Thanks to everyone that made a purchase.

I had 11 ladies that particpated in my paper piecing class, there was a few new ladies to the class. We worked on a cute little teddy bear that had a red heart stamped on it's belly, a piece that could be used on a valentine page.

While there one of the ladies that maintain the Harahan Senior Citzen garage sale, gave me 71 store bought cards that they had in the garage sale for the soldiers. All of them were All Occassion cards. Thanks for the cards and I am sure the soldiers will be appreciative .
