Hello everyone out there... it has been a while since I have posted to this blog.  Life gets in the way and I discovered facebook.  Well my latest project is SMILE ROCKS.  I was inspired by a school in the New Orleans Metro area, whereas their Kindergarten students was writing simple message on rocks and placing them in the community for others to find.
Well I decided to try my hand at this so far well over 200 painted rocks have been placed into the community ... such areas as City Park, St. Charles street car, Streets in the french quarters (Royal, Decatur and charters), they have been placed also in neighborhood playgrounds, in a Rouse grocery store, the outer areas of a Racetrac, some of them have been placed in St. Tammy Parish, Jefferson Parish and Orleans Parish.
The purpose for doing this is to put a smile on someone else's face. That person can keep the rock, or replace it in the community for someone to find.
Below are a few of the rocks that we have placed and will soon be placed in communities in Louisiana and Mississippi.

My sister, Wanda and her ornaments.

My sister, Wanda is an awesome needlepointer, but she tried her hand at painting on alumumin (soda cans) ornaments.  She did the street tile " I love Nola", a Saints hat, and a tabasco bottle.  She did an awesome job.

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT AND LET HER KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

thanks for stopping by.

My Sister, Cathy and her christmas ornaments.

My sister, Cathy... she is the baby of the family and she too is an awesome artist.  She decided to paint her christmas ornaments on alumnium (she cut coke cans into mini sheets of alumiumn and them cut out her shapes.). She was selling them for $6.00/each.

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT AND LET HER KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF HER ORNAMENTS.

Thanks for stopping by.

My Sister, Lizzy..... and her latest art project.

My sister, Lizzy is a year younger than I and is an awesome artist.  This year she decided to paint on crabshells and make ornaments for her chirstmas tree.  Each crab shell has angel wings and where the body of the angel should be she has a theme, which are New Orleans themes. The crawfish pot she still has a few details to add.  The next one is the Holy trinity (Onion, bellpepper, celery), the next one is the New Orleans Hornet basketball team, and then there is the jazz one.  Of course, there is a mardi gras one, and the oyster, tabasco one,  One of the new logo for our basketball team, the Pelicans.  Then we have the St. Louis Cathderal, then the superdome and GNO bridge. Then their is Masion Blanche's Mr. Bingle.  She did an awesome job on her ornaments. PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT TO LET HER KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THE ORNAMENTS.  Thanks for stopping by.

This pelican painting has been posted before on the blog, but I always felted that it was incomplete - so I added the wording and hearts and now feels that it is a finished painting.

crawfish fleur de lis painting

painting on canvas has become a therapy for myself. If you know me I am such a worry wart about everything.  But I find that when I paint it clears my mind for a short time.

Brown Pelican Painting

This is a pelican that my friend, Tonda painted.  I got her permission to copy the painting, but of course this is my version of her painting, colors are a bit different from hers.
